On the side, you got Led Zeplin from the Circus come on.

Another biscuit tin and firestick user. Great fun. We used them to check the roads were clear of police before we raced our cars from village to village. Used a duster on the car roof to stop the magnet scratching my car, never raced with it on tho as it would move when speeds were , ahem, fast.

Had midland porta pak, only to listen in to the tractor drivers,

Had rigs in my landies

Got a little midland for my van,lot of the t4 crowd use them for talking when driving in convoy enroute to meets/shows.

And the porta paks and portable midlands fetch good money on eBay ,as the preppers like using them .

feck me.....

I had one growing up....

'polar bear'

Lake man x man 850, and a fecking massive silver pole on the back of the house. Was talking to folk along way a way...

It was a ritual, every night...all my friends had one.... I suppose it was the 80's equivalent of texting or facebook...

We also built a mobile rig on a push bike with a 12v battery...

Edited to add........ I actually still have the rig at my mothers.... dont have an aerial though.

It did spend time in my Landy back in the day for laning...

FFS  I started off with a Midland 40 channel, progressed through to Ham International.

Had a slide mount in my Marina van with a firestick on a mag mount.

Also had a PA speaker which we used to good effect :icon_redface:

My handle was badger man and my mates was terrier man

Used to go to monthly meetings where everybody had a sweatshirt with their name on the back LOL

If you had a power mike, you were the man LOL

Breaker break, bye bye we gone :toast:

Cheers, D.
