We used them to check the roads were clear of police before we raced our cars from village to village. forest of dean redneck 11,534 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Share Posted January 12, 2014 Had midland porta pak,only to listen in to the tractor drivers, Had rigs in my landies Got a little midland for my van,lot of the t4 crowd use them for talking when driving in convoy enroute to meets/shows. 'polar bear' Lake man x man 850, and a fecking massive silver pole on the back of the house. Was talking to folk along way a way... It was a ritual, every night...all my friends had one.... I suppose it was the 80's equivalent of texting or facebook... We also built a mobile rig on a push bike with a 12v battery... Edited to add........ Had a slide mount in my Marina van with a firestick on a mag mount. Also had a PA speaker which we used to good effect My handle was badger man and my mates was terrier man Used to go to monthly meetings where everybody had a sweatshirt with their name on the back LOL If you had a power mike, you were the man LOL Breaker break, bye bye we gone Cheers, D.
