I would say there is is now a lot of confusion about as to what is actually what these days in the UK with very few closed flocks here breeding to type .Most game farms as we all know have a long tradition of taking eggs from caught up birds on estates to exchange in some form or another for poults later on where a cock bird aint fussy and the resulting poults sold far and wide unless you ask for your own back .Every estate or farm ive had anything to do with hasnt been bothered about which type of poult they receive only that its healthy and the money was right .Ring necked Michigan bluebacks were commen place on one estate.Every small hen now has a label but in reality they are mongrels .The less said about Reeves in a pen the better too ,miserable b*****ds .lol.My point is that without the required dedication any bird is liable to a wander .

We put 200 black necks down in a small wood at the back of the farm they held like glue but they also got fat and as much as we fed out in the fields to get them flying back home they would no get up fox fodder not worth feeding

Hi, i don't really understand what you mean by "fox fodder" :) do you mean, foxes ate them all?

Cheers
