Lamping89 22
Alright lads as this seems to be the best place for advice and facts On the internet could some of you lads please tell me if I was right in What I've said on a face book group Here goes the question was asked can you run a bitch in season ? My first thoughts was do as you like as many on there do ! What I put was This is what I do pal no running while she's on then when she's stopped bleeding give it another week see if she milks up some do more than others if she doesn't milk up that bad then I'll take her out behind the push bike to keep her fit but nothing to over the top for a couple weeks all in all I give her 5/6 week off any game up to you how you Then some one tagged me in there comment saying that if your dog milks when on heat then you should take it to the vets as it has a hormone problem ?? a female dog in heat or season produce the same hormones as they would if they are pregnant some decrease quicker than other so if you had a bitch that decreased slower it would begin to produce milk ?? That's what I was told but would like to know what is right and wrong for sure so if there is some One that can put me right I would be great full Regards simon Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
I've had both, Tia used to milk up to the point of looking like a Phantom pregnancy after every season, but Tess has never shown any signs of her teats enlarging. I guess it depends on each dog? a bit like woman and their periods?? Quote Link to post
timmy k 590
Wrong if a bitch was off for that length off time they would get fook all done especially the ones that come in season a few times a year, and no they shouldn't lactate after a season, but it wouldn't mean a trip to the vets if she did. alimac 882
Nothing wrong with working a bitch in season, but like humans, they can be a bit hit & miss imo 2 Quote Link to post
