learningthegame1 0
I'll be visiting Hancock's at the weekend to look at the pups, just looking for a bit of feed back on the 3/4 cross and 1/2 cross. If you have one or had one some pictures would be good. Don't won't to know if you like what Hancock's do just interested in people who have or had one. Thanks Quote Link to post
DazAllison1 556
Saw both types mate and had a 3/4 bred, the 1/2 crosses were ideal ferreters and had bags of stamina to work all day, the 3/4 bred I really liked as an all rounder he was a decent rabbit dog but killed bags of hares and deer pre ban aswell his only let down was he lacked a touch of stamina 1 Quote Link to post

border lad 1,047
I prefere, the 3/4 bred, 1/4 beardie, they can do there job,for mouching around Scotland, they will do there job, if you are looking at pups, depends what you want to do with them as said first cross for lamping and ferreting, (( for edible ))) 3/4 for the faster type, they can do there job and fill the freezer for you, if thats what you want, I do not know about TEETH, I never bothered with them, Quote Link to post
Davro 108
had a 1/2 bred if i was going for another id buy 3/4 for bit more speed Quote Link to post
johnny boy68 11,726
If I was going for a out and out bunny dog I'd go with a half x but if you want something that could spin the odd hare then I'd go with a 3/4. 3 Quote Link to post

Maximus Ferret 2,063
If this is your first dog, regardless of what cross you pick, go for one that's out going and friendly. This might sound like a cliche but temperament is very important in collie crosses. Don't buy anything older than 9 or 10 weeks at the most from Hancocks either. This is important as these dogs need early socialising and won't all get it in a puppy farm. If you want your pup to grow up to do any particular job then ask them if any of their lines have been producing pups that do that. They may not work their dogs much but they do get a bit of feedback from customers. Good luck with it. 5 Quote Link to post
pro keeper 111
Hi just been to hancocks he wont have any 5/8 3/8 untill mid summer the new stud dog casanova isnt living up to his name! you could have 1 from stud dog alex which would be 1 16th more greyhound than a half bred which i have gone for. ive seen good half breds and 3/4 breds. as others have said if you want to catch the odd long ear a 3/4 bred will be better but you pay your money and take you chance the most important part is whatever you get you put the time in training the more you put in the better the dog will be The saying of the day ! a bird in the hand craps on the wrist Quote Link to post

Mickey Finn 3,012
Here is my 1/4-3/4. 29", and 65# This is him trimmed out, following a training drag. He generally has a heck of a coat and is not bothered too much by our cold weather. Good luck what ever you choose. 2 Quote Link to post
