bunny tickler 876 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 i have just been reading on another forum about fox shooters chargeing £25 per fox plus fuel ,thats not working terriers maybe haveing hard digs breeding training & working your dogs its basically just shooting them ! now ive worked terriers for 40 years as many have ,BUT i havnt ever been paid or offered a single penny in all that time ,not even a dozen eggs given me ,maybe we are doing it wrong ? yet lambing time we are expected to turn out at the drop of a hat or in the hills a foot deep in snow farmer sees 1 fox track & has you out all day looking for elusive charlie , then if your lucky you can stand around a rockpile for the day in freezeing conditions hopeing for a bolt & not a rescue how long do you think we would last asking for £25 each no disrepect to the lads who shoot them for free 2 Quote Link to post

TOPPER 1,809 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 only time ive been paid for foxes was when the railway bank was collapseing we put the dogs through dug and bolted anything in there then it was all meshed off and rebuilt think we got 200 quid for that ive been paid by naturel england a few times to move badgers and do risk assements the cull was a good earner for me and all i done was fill out bits of paper Quote Link to post

perthshire keeper 1,239 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 all last lambing time i was paid to kill foxes for half a dozen hill farmers, i was paid by the hour to sit out all night over a lambing field or by the fox as i was on my lamping/snareing lines. and i picked up a lot of foxes over 6 weeks and got paid well for it..the thing is their is a need for lads who will and CAN kill foxes in some places and thier is a big diffrence between me who was wiling to sit out all night in the rain under a poncho and the lad who will lamp once a week when he feels like it from his truck... But what I can't understand is why do some feel the need to kill an area completely off if they call it sport ???. 1 Quote Link to post

I can remember geting 20-22 quid for pelts depending on the condition they were in,that was skint and dried,a lot of money back then when work was scarce and time on your hands. 1 Quote Link to post
