bird 9,970
I haven't read through 10 pages so don't know if its been mentioned (apologies if it has) but wonder what would happen if it turned out the copper who shot him was black You will be suprised at how many black law abideing people will aggree with wat the police did. good point that, if it had been a black copper, yeh just wonder.? people seem to forget he was in a gang were there is gun culture , they were told he had a gun in the car so he shot+dead . so what ? the riot after was just a excuse to pinch things, everybody knows that . TheRealChuckNorris 42
It was a lawful killing of a low level criminal (all he was charged with) when intelligence pegged him as on his way to take revenge for an act on his cousin. He had an illegal weapon that they had tracked him picking up. If it wasn't the police at that point it would have been someone else (gangster or police) in the not too distant future given his lifestyle and the situations he obviously tried to seek out. I believe the officer that pulled the trigger honestly believed there was an imminent threat. I'm less convinced about the stories from the other officers and I'm least of all convinced by some eye witness testimony provided by someone nine floors up on the other side of the road. The one good thing that looks like will come out of this is that the police will wear video cameras and that evidence will be indisputable. That alone will help stop 10+ pages of debate on all the forums like this across the country haha. Cases such as this are really unfortunate for the parties involved and the media like nothing more than exploiting details to help boost circulation for their papers / programmes. Anything to help aid the transparency for future incidents can only serve to restore any lost faith and help for a swift conclusion.
