Thinking about it, as has already been said, yes it's all about moderation. . But I think if there's one thing for sure that will shorten your life and wellbeing it's this - STRESS. . Stress will shorten your life quicker than any of the aforementioned habits in proportion. . In fact I think far too much is made of "healthy eating" or "healthy living" let's be a little more specific, maybe more focus should placed on living happy and de-stressing! And if that means having a bevy, a fry up, a smoke, even a Jamaican woodbine, so be it!

Ultimately, I'd rather live 60 years happy than 90 not so. . I like what Abraham Lincoln said "And in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years".

its your decision to make so fook what anybody else says, like anything in life gather the facts and act on them as you see fit but if your decision is having a negative impact on others then you've made the wrong one.

I can mind Michael Jackson in his hey day, oxygen tent etc, gonna live for ever...... You could give up everything and die the next day. That's one of the reasons I don't have a pension, why work all your days paying into something there is a good chance you'll never live to see it. Enjoy today, the only day your guaranteed to see.

There's a balance between living life in the moment and planning for the future.

It's alright saying "if it's my time it's my time so f**k it might as well do what ever I want" but that's a bit of a daft attitude imo, your life may be ended by a cause out of your control but if it isn't it'll certainly be ended by one that is. Just because some people get hit by buses or die from some rare disease doesn't mean that thousands don't die well before their time through years of abusing their body and health.

As with all things in life, there's a balance somewhere, each of us choose how we want that balance to be.

Surely that completely counters your initial point of not planning for the future? LOL

It's still a 'pension', just a more economical one surely?

Wise choice anyway baw, I wish I had the savvy to be able to invest in a few different things.
