Nice looking dog for the yard and as for nipping fukc me my dog dose that if I don't throw the ball in time lol should I put it down? Too many folk on here too quick to judge

Yeah and if there were more ppl "too quick to judge" maybe some of these kids that got mauled by dogs over the past few years might have been prevented ! Anyone who takes a risk with a aggressive dog needs a there head seeing too !

Likes been said all the dog needs is a lot of time spent with it not just feed and water it like it probs as been it needs to know who is the leader of the pack is it will learn

If i had a yard needed protecting that's the type i'd want. one that would most likely back its self up if push came to shove.

I'm struggling to see why you would even breed a dog like that if you didn't have a purpose in mind, let alone take on on to 'do f**k all' with.. :hmm: Most akitas I've come across have been skittish and require experienced and competent handling, and then you introduce the tenacity of a bull to it. The fact that the OP has said it nips him when he goes round also suggests the current owner is unable or unwilling to correct the dog when needs be. Then there's the age which also suggests the dog is starting to throw its weight about and the owner wants shot. So many 18 month old dogs appear for sale/rehoming on this site it's unreal. Like other lads have said on here, there are only a few places and scenarios that dog could safely go into now, personally I wouldn't take that on and have to deal with previous owners mistakes. I hate using the same terms as the media but that is what they'd call a status dog' if ever I saw one. As others have said, only sensible options would be to find it a suitable home like a scrapyard or get it PTS IMO..

Seen a few huskies like that as well, certainly hell of a mix of breeds, looks like a mongrel Russian hunting dog.

I agree with both sides on this yes this could make a decent dog with the RIGHT handler. Problem is if it ends up in a fuckwits hands it's a disaster waiting to happen, best off in a yard with very experienced hands or a hole imho

A mate of mine sold one on here a while back. Fcukin thing would maul anybody if given half a chance. was wedded to the owner and family and that was it. The lad stressed that anyone who came for it with a view to buy would need a daylight appointment and plenty of time to get palled up with the dog. Now the one being gifted here is a young dog who just needs a firm handler to show him his vocation and the job will be a good un. Like i said. If the lad had a stuck a price on it with a wording of 100% guard dog...there'd have been a queue a mile long wanting to buy it.

Best thing the lad can do is vet every punter seriously and only let it go to an experienced person. atb stabba

Nipping can be a greeting, sign of affection/excitement to a pack member. Both my Bull X bitch and my Malinois dog do it and sometimes my Terrier/Spaniel.

But here we go with the "hole in the ground" and the "PTS pose" or should I say "No nothing" and the "couldn't be arsed pose"

I'd make something of that dog, but hey ho, I don't need it.

Good luck with finding a new home, looks a nice dog.

Forgot to add, if you can't find a decent home, give it to one of the PTS pose, they'll sort it out .

there's a big difference between an excited immature and under-stimulated dog's nipping and aggression. I'd imagine what this dog is doing is the former, as if it was the latter it would be doing more than a 'nip'.

My mother in law has a pet staffy, fat old thing that lies in front that fire doing feck all, that dog will come up and nip your hands when you go round there as it's excited, should that be in a hole in the ground! Jesus.

That said, I agree 110% that this dog should go to a very specific type of home due to it's breeds and it's background, but I'd say that regardless!

Hi all. This is not my dog. Im putting this up as a favour to the lads mum and the dog more than anything.

18 month old akita x husky x bull. Its a dog. This dog is not for the inexperienced as he is a bit of a handful as the lad has done basically feck all with it. He bought two litter mates and after people finally getting through to him he has realised he cant deal with two of them.

I should think he would make a great guard dog to the right person. Rocky... DSC_0192thl.jpg DSC_0203thl.jpg

might make a good fen dog him atb

Go on the lurcher section singing the dogs praises as a coursing dog and I'm sure the dog will be gone before you know it , without you knowing it.

the dogs been explained fair enough, its not for me i but it could be usefull to someone.it just pisses me off the owner got 2 of them, now wants rid.if you sell a porche 911 turbo to a dick and explain about the car its power, etc and the lad kills himself,or someone else its not the seller problem.

Frodo is a 3 year old much loved staff/terrier.. He has bounds of energy, in fact too much energy and is getting too boisterous for our much older staff.

He was brought in to our home by error as a pup and we just cant give him the time/attention he needs because of work commitments.

would ideally suit a more active life than what we can provide for him..A great guard dog because of his alertness..
Not worked but he is game when out walking in the fields

      Clean,strong, chipped, friendly, home/farm/working dog.
