Stig whats happened about your op, had it done yet?i saw the specialist a week ago and she rekons its going to be a drawn out job with mine because i had 2 torn and they could only repair one the other was too bad, got to see her in 3 months but sill having physio in the meantime mainly exercises at home.

i see the surgeon 9-15 thursday morning its took from the first week in oct fooking nhs had my scan in january ---- thing is its a lot better now than it was 5 months ago unless i`ve just learnt to cope with it ..

You're lucky mate, I gave up plastering in 06 and have only just started applying for work again after I've had the last of my ops.. :D

Up untill just over a year ago, I had not had a full nights sleep for over 25 years with arthritc pain in my neck and shoulders. Then my GP put me on Naproxen a nsaid, since then my life has been transformed. The pain has almost gone and it allows me to raise my arms higher than I have been able to for 25 years.

Not everyone can take them as there are side effects, but if you can take them they are worth the world, to be able to do everyday things again like changing a light bulb or even just reaching for the top shelf of the cuboard.

TC

thats what i was on tc naproxen and omeprazole but i gave them best i`ve kept a few for when its really bad but i found i was humping furniture and working away fine but causing myself more problems and a lot of pain once they wore off ... least i know without them how far i can push myself . the omeprazole is supposed to combat the side effects of the naproxen :icon_eek:

Omeprazol? Isn't that a stomach tablet?

I got put on diclofenic but as I have stomach problems they really caused me a load of pain

iam going wed to see my surgeon , see what he says regards if he leaves the way I am , or gives me a op . iam bit like you as ive got used to it a bit now, ive prob got about 90% movement in my shoulder I do pyso every day which as really helped a lot. the op would be tp open the shoulder and screw the bone back on to the top of the collar bone , as its come away from the fall impact the screws stay in all the while,But it does seem like iam going backwards as to start all over again with pain I will get from a op, and don't really know if iwill get more movement with a op , to what ive got now. ? But will see what the surgeon says wed .?

seen the surgeon today, he was happy with my progress regards movement etc. So thinks it will be ok without surgery , go back in 3 months just to see how it doing, but got too keep up with the physo exersices all the while , which is only 1 hour over the day, thats no big deal to do that ,than go under the knife . so not to bad, and he said my shoulder injury can stay as it is and not affect me even when older lol, so looks like the op would only be a last resort for me. if it ever came to that  he thought I was fit+strong for my age, asked me how I kept fit, its hard to say lamping 3-4 hours a night couple times a week, or mooching all day with dogs or ferreting in all weathers , he prob wouldn't understand he was from South Africa
