desertbred 5,490
I can spot a dog kept indoors a mile off. Wee bit of sleet it's shivering like a whippet. Outdoor dog, grows a good coat, isn't getting constantly cuddled by woman and kids, real lurchermen keep there dogs outside, show me one good lurcherman who has dogs inside. you complain about feathery ears but want a dog to grow a good thick coat get a poodle then Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
Baw Jim from Derby keeps his dogs in the house... His dogs are certainly putting the shifts and the gear away... Its rubbish about dogs shivering.. If they are out grafting and being exposed to the elements regularly. with the right feed and conditioning and built up graft ,under their belts they should not be phased by a bit of sleet and rain.. rhysy28 3
He's house trained now seems pretty forward too, time will tell I guess. Im not after a Dog that will kill more Rabbits than mixy, want to work him for his own enjoyment rather than mine. But I suppose it all comes down to "You get out what you put in" whether He's kept inside or out?? Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
Course you want a decent coat baw.. If a dogs got a shit coat keeping it out side in sub zero wont improve that... Some people kennels are better and warmer than folks houses Its a olde School mentality "hardening them up"... Yes some will have better coats and adapt to colder climes.. Some wont and you would have to put coats on them.. If your dogs up and about for hours working in all weathers they get used to it.. Its better to bed them down in warm conditions after a hard days graft than to put them out in a draftee cold kennel.. Each to there own.. Mine sleep out.. After a hard session mine sleep indoors with the heat on Quote Link to post

Obviously I was fishing for a reaction with my post, I know plenty of good indoor kept dogs. All the owners are soft c**ts right enough Quote Link to post
arcticgun 4,548
nice and comfy in the house:laugh: 2 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
I don't get te whole thing Bout keeping them in doors softening them up...... How much time do these dogs spend in the kennel? Surely if the dog is out regular every day in all weathers it'll end up with a decent enough coat / level of resistance. Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
Baw when/ if your dogs caught as much as mine, you would let them sleep in your bed Oh you don't even have a dog Edited January 9, 2014 by Giro Quote Link to post
