It mentioned alot about bolting and digging but never once mentioned what types or breeds were best for each particular quarry. I am a lurcherman myself not having had much experience with terriers. Just wondered what breeds were best used back then before badger digging ban etc? Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,481 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 If you go far enough back they were not classified into breeds as such but just evolved to suit local terrain etc.I think as long has a dog worked it was used and bred to another but inbreeding would of fixed type to an extent. People didnt travel far from home in those days so things were kept tight. A diffrent strain in every district. 1 Quote Link to post
