Shove H,penny

I recently had a go at this game and now I,m addicted , I,v joined all the sites and read lots of books , but I need to get my technique right from the start , any tips on the right amount of chalk or the amount of force to use , would be appreciated, .Also does any one know the best place to buy my own board to practise at home come on lads ,I need a shove h,penny guru . thank you

Right lads , I have tried varios methods of propulsion ( the heel of the hand , the palm etc )but still cant get any decent results , do you think I may be using too much chalk and does any one know the correct ratio for friction between coin and board to enable maximum control , I have practised for hours and am only getting keener . sensible answers only please and Jocky Wilson need not reply

Heel of the hand or palm. More chalk or less chalk. Shiny coin or dull? It's a minefield alright.

 

Regarding your friction question, as you are aware, there are 2 coefficients of friction. One refers to an object at rest and the other to a moving object. Could you clarify which one you require? :D

Aye you can't forget the Newtonian laws of motion, very important to know things like your inertial frames of reference if you want to make it.. :laugh:
