Really when you read that it pisses you off, for 2 reasons really. These c**ts coming here in the first place the main thing. But anyone who is in arrears then why should they get to sit there rent free?

My girl is coming through the exact same thing with her tenant. A lassie who says her benefit has been cut so she can't afford the full rent.....BUT....she can afford a summer holiday that was plastered all over Facebook!!!!!

I think that used to be the case mate but I think it's changed up here. Don't quote me but I'm sure there's a 'human rights' thing that they should get there money first and then pay it out. Ffs like that is going to work!!!!

the problem is along with paying the claimant instead of the landlord they also reduced the amount paid, so now they have to find a way to cover the difference, they also scrapped council tax benefit at the same time but hid it with a payment to local government that covered 93% of it in 2013-2014 and 75% 2014-2015, so if you take the girl your talking about she now has to pay about £20 to £30 a week extra out of her £71 a week benefit as well as her utilities and food, not everything is what they want you to believe,

Oh yes it is!!! If you can't afford your rent you can't afford to be going out getting pissed and booking holidays. Facts are she had a boyfriend staying there and he's f****d off. Now your not telling me she wasn't claiming to be living alone?? Of course she was.

 

Oh and Baw I'd make sure she pays what she is due.

no its simply because the benefit bollocks is made to fit all scenario's and used as a smokescreen, my honest opinion, all benefit should be means tested, no universal benefits should exist, child benefit.working tax credit.winter fuel allowance etc, etc scrap the lot, one payment to cover all aspects if and when you need it and only for the time it takes to get back on your feet, but it would never happen as far to many who think their not on benefits would rebel about loosing their benefits

The thing that's pissing the girl of is she has tried her hardest to help her out because she was once in the same position. But burying your head in the sand and not answering the phone is not the way forward. And getting pissed and booking holidays is nothing short of taking the piss.

that programme was part of the smoke screen think about it why do we give £400 a year fuel allowance to the likes of Peter Stringfellow, he tried to give it back and was told to give it to charity, why does most of the benefit bill get paid to people in work, theres a bigger picture here and programmes like that one last night divert the attention from that,

Good luck pal folk see kindness as weakness mate, take liberties. My mate the sponger I've spoke about. I've loaned him loads of money, never let it go above £50. It annoys me when he will say can't pay you pal, skint but your in the pub when he's telling you it I was at a BBQ with him during the summer, he stays about a mile from where the BBQ was. He owed me a few quid but anyhow, him and his wife had a few drinks, few too many lol, he says to me, goes a loan of a tenner for a taxi. I was like f**k off you can walk. Anyhow sees him the next day, I says did you get home alright. He'd obviously forgot he'd asked me for money. He says aye, we were starving, walked to the chippy got a couple of fish suppers and waved a taxi down lol. He's spend your last tenner before he'd spend his. Knows no other way.
