dytkos 17,818
Its a double edged sword. Have had a Visa card with TSB for about many years. Now got about 17K limit on it. My daughter was struggling with 12month old twins and a fiesta so I spunked 4k and bought her a picasso. Not long after I saw an ad for HSBC (I bank with them personally and my business account also) to swop and have a really good pay back rate. I went to the bank to talk about changing and they offered me 3K limit FFS. 2 years later and £200 a month I now owe about £600 so it will have cost me about a grand but I'd rather keep my savings and a decent amount of credit available for "just in case" Cheers, D. terryd 8,552
I don't think credit is a tool of the devil. You just have to be a bit savvy how you use it. How would anyone ever own their own house without getting a mortgage? You're hardly likely to save up £200k. Agreed! It was scary to me that they were willing to offer so much! Easy to see how some people can get so easily duped tho! Fair enough sittin speakin' with the guy, all smiles and roses, but, You buy a £200k house... It's no bungalow, so it needs heating...more heating than you may have been struggling to pay before. It has more lights that will get left on... Bigger floors, which need bigger carpets... Bigger spaces, which need bigger / more furniture....... It's quite possibly in a 'fancier' area, so, you obviously then need the 'fancier' car to sit outside... Which then drinks more fuel...... £200K was just the start of it... Luckily for us, both e and Mrs me are as tight as ducks ars*s! It's worth it in the end because even including the interest, you've paid less than someone renting and you own your own place. Win win. unless some thing goes horribly wrong god forbid and you end up having to file for bankruptcy then lose your home. At least rented they can't touch you

budharley 945
ive got a mortgage I got when I was 18 I then got a mobile at around 22-23, I then lost it and got a big bill I told them I wouldn't pay it so I owed just over a hundred quid . I then went to get an iphone last year and was declined blackmarks on credit apparently from that phone . I have recently applied and got basicly my own mortgage for 70,000 so I re applied for my I phone and got it, so in basicly 4 months ago I cant have any thing even though I have a mortgage and havnt missed a payment to giving me 70 ,000 and a phone Edited January 7, 2014 by budharley

twymanc 135
Personally, I'm not. Nor am I wallowing in spare cash right now either. I don't 'Do' xmass. So, I haven't gone overdrawn, just because. However, I imagine a good few of you are probably feeling the pinch of what ye've just done ..... And, I wonder if your spam boxes are picking up what mine is? It absolutely f**king disgusts me! The f**king scum! I must be getting a dozen a day, or more here; Offers of f**king credit cards! Now, I don't know if these are genuine offers. I doubt it. The point remains the same: Some, so called, f**king human beings out there are working tirelessly, trying to cash in on most peoples unhappy, wound licking, situations. I'd like to throttle these bast@rds! A credit card is simply instant debt. If you're finding things a little tight just now? A credit card will plunge you straight into a spiral of ever deeper misery. Christ, how I f**king hate so much of 'humanity'. So much pure scum out there, gagging to feast on the weaknesses of others There. I feel better now. Not because I've got that little rant off my chest. Because my Dogs sensed my mood and presented themselves, with thrusting heads and wagging tails, for an ear rub and a skin grip. Don't let the f**kers grind ye down, people. Your shit'll soon enough come back together. F**k the sharks. yea i know that feeling theres a documentary called "agree and continue" it basically shows the truth about google everything online you install sign up for when you hiy that magic word which you have to anyways your giving the right to your email adress phone numbers etc...to be gathered and sold on to the highest bidder i get over a 100 emails a day cash donkey instant loan bla bla bla watch it pal it will open your eyes
