04fox8 168
I don't think credit is a tool of the devil. You just have to be a bit savvy how you use it. How would anyone ever own their own house without getting a mortgage? You're hardly likely to save up £200k. Agreed! It was scary to me that they were willing to offer so much! Easy to see how some people can get so easily duped tho! Fair enough sittin speakin' with the guy, all smiles and roses, but, You buy a £200k house... It's no bungalow, so it needs heating...more heating than you may have been struggling to pay before. It has more lights that will get left on... Bigger floors, which need bigger carpets... Bigger spaces, which need bigger / more furniture....... It's quite possibly in a 'fancier' area, so, you obviously then need the 'fancier' car to sit outside... Which then drinks more fuel...... £200K was just the start of it... Luckily for us, both e and Mrs me are as tight as ducks ars*s!

It's worth it in the end because even including the interest, you've paid less than someone renting and you own your own place. Win win.

04fox8 168
Credit has it's place...No doubt about it. BUT, As has been mentioned, it's the people who can least afford it who are being 'Targeted' by these companies. I could go out and spend an African Nation's food allowance Tomorrow on all the cards I have ammassed over the years (Handy to have for work etc), BUT, At the end of the day, it has to be paid back! - Regardless who has taken the credit, it's not their money! Back to comment in Original post Re-Christmas, If times are that hard, DON'T go getting yourself in sh*t just 'cos you feel you need to buy Aunty Mabel that cashmere jersey she'll never wear anyway. Look after No.1, if those 'Nearest and Dearest Friends' can't cope without a bottle of bubble bath, well f**k em! If it affects them That much, are they REALLY your Nearest and Dearest? We all know it's coming around again in just under a years time, if we want to buy the kids the best we can afford, let's start saving NOW! Not getting into chucky next f**kin' December again.

Those 'Tesco' Cards sometimes do a deal on 'points' (?) - That's when we see a pile of small bits and pieces for friends kids and stocking fillers arriving through the door. They can lie quite happily in the loft from June or so...

treecreeper 1,136
I probably have a shite credit score, I applied for a credit card once to get a free football shirt and so I could stick my car on it because garage could only accept so much in cash due to money laundering. They fecked me off. I don't do credit for anything if I aint got the cash I don't spend it. The bank are banned from sending me credit card shite now, Even had to threaten to move accounts before they would up the amount of cash in a day cheeky bitch asked me why I would need more cash in a day and tried to offer me a credit card instead. Waz 4,253
Got 2 mortgages, 1 small and 1 even smaller. Nothing else on credit. See a lot of folk doing it though, too often it ends in tears...
perthshire keeper 1,239
Cant get anywhere without a credit score ..... everyone got something on credit I haven't got a 'Credit Score', what ever that is. I have absolutely nothing on credit. I owe no one anything. I ask nothing of anyone. What ever this 'credit score' thing is, it just smacks of one more way of them controlling you. What is it; You have to take their loans / pay their interest, just to show you're a good little soldier. Then they'll feed you more loans / interest payments? FFS ..... That's terrible Then again? I haven't seen a human being or heard ones voice in a week. Not so much as a shadow in a passing motor. This doesn't bother me in the least. Even my medical records state I'm a Recluse. I guess this makes me seem like some sort of a head banger? Crazy old coot who's hidden himself away from the 'real' world? Amusing. My world's real enough. I simply refuse to be sucked into Their world of illusion and endless penury. F**k 'em. And their " Credit Scores " pete nothing wrong with that...i had a my own wee piece of the wild carved out.. enugh gas for a few weeks a few ton of wheat for the birds and i wouldent have to see a soul for ages loved it! my wee caravan in the woods.....all the beaters called me a recluse too
