jonah. 775 Posted August 3, 2014 Report Share Posted August 3, 2014 Two things: No.1 Although I don't want to lose the edge that I may have got but I thought it only fair to let everyone know that from today, Aldi have a load of fishing tackle, baits, clothing, rigs etc etc on sale at bargain prices No.2 Is there a schedule yet for the match, ie what time does it start, what duration, how are pegs allocated etc etc etc? dytkos 17,784 Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 The match will be fished between 9am - 3pm with the draw for pegs at 8am ( or there abouts, depending on hangovers etc lol) You draw you peg out of a bag, so it's all done fairly. Only 1 rod can be fished at a time ( you can set up as many as you want though). johnny boy68 11,726 Posted August 4, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 I fished Trefaldu yesterday, I fished on Kingfisher which is very similar fishing to the pond that we're fishing for the comp just smaller with around 12 pegs. I fished on the waggler in about 10 foot of water with 6lb main line to a 4lb hook length with a size 14 hook and I put around 4 tennis ball size of groundbait in, though it was slow to start and I was a bit rusty as I've not wet a line for course fish since last years comp things did liven up as the day went on. I started fishing on double maggot but was only catching little roach so changed to corn and was catching the odd tench and still being plagued by the small stuff, so then I changed to luncheon meat and started getting better fish with common and mirror carp to around 4lb I was also catching some better tench on the flavoured meat(cinnamon) I made up. All in all a decent day and I finished on around 50- 60lb off fish consisting of roach, skimmers, chub, tench and common and mirror carp to about 4lb. Hopefully wew can have the same type of day on the Willow when we fish that in 2 weeks. Be nice to catch up with you all at the comp. Tight lines. 6 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
