From now on socks is no longer the otter he is either mouse or ken the kid which ever takes your fancey !! Also met my heros the guys that supply nandos with thier chickens !! God bless you !! dytkos 17,784 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Share Posted August 18, 2014 Got back home at 11.00am, five hours to get up there, two and a half to get back Despite "winning" the wooden spoon, I had a top weekend and met some great people Weather was kind, venue was spot on, a tad isolated maybe and well organised. We had food coming out of our ears, so a big thanks to all who donated and cooked and tidied Owain's fish was 9lb 10oz if memory serves me right and nobody was outrageously drunk - unless something happened after I folded at about half one last night Joe did miss the Sunday night session as he'd been sampling Scrumpy in the afternoon Big congrats to Arch and Owen on their cups, the Welsh boys for the organisation and evryone who took part and/or donated in any way. I don't think there was a cross word between anybody all weekend just as it should be ... there was plenty of drink and food and the lads on the BBQ did a sterling job ... Wales 1234 aka the maggot needed somebody to land his fish for him because he had a baddy little pinky finger bless ........... Big jim haymin is a serial man hugger and I feared for my anal virginity at one stage but luckily he moved on to the next nearest male he could find ...... A big thank you to the Welsh boys, a great job. Good BBQ skills last night as well. Sorry to leave this morning without saying good by to the "Pond Side Dwellers" Or helping clear up. I just got hooked up and left. My highlight of the weekend was saving that Bat that was hung up on some fishing line. A good team effort there. Followed closely by the language used by the Otter after loosing that fish. One thing I will say. I was a little sceptical about the comp going to a Carp venue, with how the comp thing all came about in the first place. But i'll hold my hand up and say that it was for the better that it was held there. Most caught fish, the river the day before was difficult and was going through sharpish, so would have been hard fishing for the 20 odd of us. Other than a Pub (That I didn't think was missed anyway) the venue was spot on. Maybe this type of venue, for this type of competition, is the way to go in the future.
