The son and family can only come down on that week as the daughter in law is a copper and can only get that week off work. I was just hoping it would be the 24th. The guy was really nice, there are three lakes, one of which (the biggest) has 30 pegs. He usually hires it out for £200 for the day, but will do it for us for £150, which would make it £6 a person for 25 people. Folk fishing seemed to rate the water, and some people had taken good bags off it. Carp up to 30lb and all the other roach, tench, perch and other shit. He also has camping on site, well, just up a hill on the farm, which is I think 10 quid a person, and hook ups and hard standing for a camper etc is 13 quid. There is a nice toilet and shower block. It's free to book on the weekend of the 16th / 17th of August. We can camp sat night, fish sunday and camp sunday night. Also if we wanted to book the lake for night fishing on the sunday night, I think it would be an extra £50. The river wye is a couple of miles away if people wanted to come down on saturday day and do that, and also there is a decent (big) bit of public forestry if people wanted a mooch. There are a couple of semi-permanent statics on the camping place that folk stay in over summer, so that's the only noise related issue. . . . however might ask if we can camp not in the official field but further away on the farm. They sell snacks, soft drinks, chips, burgers etc. There is a pub not too far away, but it would be a bit of a mission to walk. We can have a bbq. Think that was about it. Thoughts?
