Broken Tail

My dog has broke her tail, about 2-3 inches from the end. Has anyone else seen this and how does dog get on after?

not make anydiffrence to it make sure dog is out of motor before you shut the door

So long as there is no open wound with bits of bone sticking through it should heal fine. Immobilise the end of the tail in a small rigid tube to protect the break: hold it on to the tail with sticking plaster. Leave the end open for the tail to breathe.

I used a syringe took the plunger out and cut the top of (the nipple type bit) slide it over the dogs tail and faster with plaster tape....had to do it as the dog kept getting happy tail(tail bleeding at the tip due to the dog waking it agianst the pen wall when he got excited)

 

 

 

 

Think I had the idea out of the countrymans weekly an artical that I'm sure you wrote penny(could be mistaken tho )

2 of my dogs tails are broke at the end doesnt hinder them

Cheers. Taking her up the vets. Don't want to mess it up as it is the first time I have had it happen. Just to be on the safe side.How long you reckon it will take to heal?

took her the vets and did exactly as you said. For £30 with painkillers was worth it. But if it ever happens in the future il just do it myself
