Right guys, I know there was a thread on this recently but I can't find it so I thought I'd start this one.

I've recently took it up, started as a bet in the pub and now I'm hooked. I've went and got a winmau blade 4 board and some tungsten darts. I've been taking pointers from this website http://www.dartbase.com/technics.htm and getting stuff from this one http://www.reddragondarts.com

Does anyone know of any other good sites?

My biggest problems my grip, I just can't get the hang of it. I've developed my own grip lol which basically has me pinching the dart with thumb and finger and my index finger kind of just running the length of the dart. The problem is I move the dart in my fingers just before I release. Is it a problem to do that? I've tried the pencil grip etch but it doesn't feel comfortable, do I perceiver with that grip or just do the one I do? I'd rather know now before I get too comfortable with it.

Aye I know but like a lot of things technic must play a part. I just want to make sure I can progress using my type of grip cos it can be a bit hit and hope at times lol

Im brilliant at darts, what do you need to know?

:hmm: ok, my grip, how important is it to progress? Am I best learning one of the basic grips or find my own? My grip, the dart tends to move in my hand and I'm basically gripping with only 2 fingers is that enough for accuracy?

Best learning your own grip, I aim like one would drink tea (raised pinky lol) and am great at it but most would disagree :icon_redface:

Lol, is it ok for the dart to kind of roll in your hand before throwing?

:laugh:you want to carry a small bag of weight lifters chalk....

place it your pocket and then every time you throw a dart

put your thumb and fore finger in it stops the dart sticking to your hand

but don't spill any on your shoes

folk will think your bollocks have dandruff
