Thatcher.......even More Lies

Recommended Posts

Gnasher16, sorry for some reason my quote facility is not working.

I'm not making comparisons regarding any individual, simply saying there are more people in the world than ever and increasing demand on the earths resources.

Tell you what though, your wee black bugger born into snot and poverty won't put the strain on resources like a western family and as you point out will possibly be dead before adulthood again using less resources, so at the risk of kicking off another argument, it could be argued that civilised western cultures with less kids actually born but surviving to again reproduce are in fact putting more strain on the world than third world countries.

She may have saved the Southern half of the country. But certainly fcuked the Northern half up good and proper.

Virtually 30 years on and still my area(and surrounding) are not over the pit closures. Very far from it in fact. Stick a few factory units up and employ a couple of dozen folk then ship out and say"

No, she saved it !

Not unless he gets to a country like England to be bailed out of course ;) ..........In which case he is then a drain on everyone apart from the people/nation that brought him into the world.

When natures had enough she will let us know, when she flexes her muscles, we may well be just another extinct species. Lets be honest, if nature has an eye twitch, thousands die, in the short time that humans have existed and kept records, nature has never let rip. Its common sense to me that you can not take indefinitely without something going wrong. We are part of the natural world and have been given the ability to take from it like never before, we have evolved the technology but have left wisdom behind. Look at the oceans, there is no way that we can keep on taking the amount out that we do, without it reaching a tipping point. To say that we are part of the natural world and then be comfortable with massive factory ships depleting the seas or the indiscriminate killing of pods of dolphins is the sort of hypocrisy that marks us out as a species. The funny thing is though that the old saying, the meek shall inherit the earth, has been proved right through mass extinctions, its mostly the small species that survive, so who knows, the rats may well have the last laugh :D We are fools, lets be honest most people think of humans as a "higher" species, aloof of and superior to the natural world, the day will come when nature will address the balance, we came from nature but feel that we have the right to turn around and slap her round the face, she may be patient but her time will come, I am sure

Do folk ever think statements like "stop having kids" through?.......it's such a simplistic, ill thought out thing to say its laughable

It's like when you get a lecture from a vegetarian and you look down and they are wearing leather shoes, or that hunting is cruel as they tuck into a battery chicken for Sunday lunch........their logic only extends to them telling YOU what YOU should do.

I bet everyone saying we are killing the world owns a car or has taken a flight or uses electricity but instead of feeling so strongly about the planet they give them all up, they blame the natural cycle and instinct of animals to reproduce.

Is it more natural for an animal to reproduce or ship a super tanker of crude across the world so you can jump on a plane and get your shit and giggles in a far off land? You tell me?

Nonsense, absolute nonsense.

If a two child policy came into Europe tomorrow

Not only would it mean more space and fresh air for all it would stop the tribes out reeding us.

It wouldnt it would mean us and the tribes already here would slowly decrease and the only population increase would be from more immigrants

What we should be doing is having as many kids as we can

Max, I agree we are raping the earth......no argument from me on that, where we differ is that I believe it's the things people think they need rather than the fact there are people that is the problem.

Myself, I trust nature and god, everything is brought back into balance eventually.

In the meantime I will just look for the joy in the world, the greatest of which to me is children and watching them flourish and grow.

I will feel good when I wake up as the mist clears from a lake at 4 in the morning and the world comes to life, I get to watch my little sons or daughters experience that with me.

Or climbing to the top of a fell with them as the sun comes up and looking out over gods creation.........I have been blessed enough to do these things with them.

You can't buy it and it don't cost the earth a bean.......yet it's the best thing in the world

I don't feel like I have burdened the world with more mouths, my goal is to say I have enriched the world with good, positive human beings.

Seem to be going off in a tangent here mate. I thought we were talking about the mine villages after thatcher closed them? My reference to the poles is to show the lengths some people from other countries will go to find work whereas here, it's all doom and gloom if a factory closes and the next ones 10 mile away.

if both factories were identical in what they did however if not it would matter not if it was one or a hundred miles away and they had 10.000 jobs if you have not got the skills there after then your not going to get a job there, boils my piss when folk say there's thousands of jobs, well remove the part time, the job shares, the duplicated ones, the one day a month agency ones, the ones you do not have the skills for, the economically daft ones (ie the ones where it will cost more to get to than you will earn) and the jobs that are actually available suddenly becomes a whole lot smaller
I was in primary when all this thatcher stuff was going on. But I can remember my auld man telling me back then jobs were a plenty. When he left school you could walk out of a job on the friday, start one on the monday. You keep jumping to today but I'm talking back then :)
. Well. Fook me gobshite was at school when. Margret was reaping havoc lol. And we were all given free bikes to get on lol. Told you i was a good judge gobshite

f**k me, gonetosleep has found a post I wrote umpteen pages ago  so boss of the year through 3 recessions, you found your abacus yet? Your a good judge eh, how's this for judging, I reckon you were a trade unioner were you? That's why you spat the dummy out when I mentioned grangemouth, started calling my bird a tart etc  it's ok for you to call me names, bring down my woman, it's me Baw, I can take it, water off daftys back. But if I retaliate I get banned cos it's me, Baw. But that doesn't bother me, when wee nyaffs like you resort to that and start talking bullshit, it suits me fine :)

SACS are highlighting this and opposing it, see the link for further info.
Theres a questionaire you can fill in at the end if you have time.
