WE as a nation need to relise we have duped into the failed experiment that is the EU and we need to leave it and re negotiate the common market Immergration need to stop any any further negotiations must include the re enstatement of borders and the re patriation Of all Incomers and or the issue of work permits to bonfire professionals , and send me on a ipad course lol

Alright, I'm nothing if not honest when wrong. I was wrong about the White British poulation 'exploding', I was completely missinformed on that one. It looks to have seen steady growth but nothing terribly drastic, assuming the immigrant population was negligeable pre 50s? The majority of our total poulation growth is indeed down to immigration. So I'll appolagise on that one mate.

 

Either way, my point stands about welfare in this country. Mass immigration was welcomed in a short sighted attempt to keep us all sweet with our benefits. The electorate are as much to blame as the Gov.

 

So now we're in the shit we are what are the power that be to do exactly, as I said before regarding house prices? Stop mass immigration is a granted but that just stops the problem escalating further. Two choices, increase supply (build more houses), decrease demand (not sure how to do that?). I can't otherwise see how to reduce house prices....

New labour was a party within a party the old guard was un electable , the monster of two generations becoming dependent on welfare was created before blair , what is done is done , the future of this nation lies in the balance We need reform in many places but its ours to reform not brussels , Iam not anti Immergration but this invasion can not go on it not sustainable as for the. Did that for a couple of months, manager took the piss so told him to poke it. Walked down the road a few yards and went into another shop, same thing, start next day. Was offered a job with the GPO as a telegraph boy (on the mopeds), declined it and went as a messenger with a travel agents. In Dec 1970 I joined the railway as a junior, just approached a station manager and he set up an interview.. voila... then in 72 became a secondman and then on to freight train driver for 35 years..

 

I don't think Thatcher particularly had it in for 'northeners', there were only had 3 working pits in Kent in her era, but they all closed. Pits in Wales had the same fate.

Train drivers were threatened with the sack for striking in 1982, and the union advised everyone to return to work. That was a national strike. Train drivers 'then' were not on a particularly good wage (hence the strike), their money being made up with night allowance, working overtime, rest days and sundays etc.

you lived in a great time sir Many many things could be blamed for the decline but The out break of the first world war was the end of the empire we had no real reason to enter it but did and the out come was horrendous and the world changed for ever !!!!
