No, they have a spare dog on slip ready to slip if the dog tires usually around the 3 1/2 minute stage if the dogs running fit, you should know when to stop running it before you f**k it. No amount of stimulant will revive a f****d dog over worked ready for another slip.

I feed my 8/10 hrs before going..

 

I once fed about 6pm and went at 12. The dog was not running right and banged a toe..

 

When I was driving home it spewed and it had not digested the food from that evening..

 

Glad it banged a toe or it could of got bloat..

I used to scramble 2 eggs and a splash of milk, but I don't even do that now.

 

Mine would not eat banana, they wont eat apple cores or cooked carrots, mixed in the grub they spit them out.

i feed my dog about 6 or 7 hours before i go out and then straight away when i get home. on the few occasions ive had a invite out from Tomo i take some food to give my dog as soon as we have finished as its a long drive home.

Always had a pocket full of cheese or some little snack for either the dog or me

 

Way I always saw it was; I get hungry when working hard so must they but the best is the same as an athlete.... eat well before to build up the reserves
