TOMO 26,266
how much do you feed your pup ?ive got a 10 month old pup ive been giving it like nearly 2pints of dry soaked in water and meat i thought hed been eating all at once but just beeen in and theres still about a 3rd left now if hes not eating at 1 sitting hes been lamping with food in him which is o good for him so should i drop the food back abit Two pints seems a lot to me,,, I use a cup as a measure wich is 1/3 of a pint,,, and the most any of mine ever get is 3 cups,,, but usually it's just 1 - 2 cups ,, mixed with raw meat.... But of course all dogs are different and if it's a big dog perhaps it needs more,, The thing is,, as a ten month old it's still growing,,so if it's a bit overweight yet it's not a problem, plenty of sensible exercise a bit of light work,, and plenty grub at ten month old is just the ticket,,, so I wouldn't worry to much if he's healthy
Bosun11 537
At 10 months, that food would be best split into two meals. Mine stay at 2 meals from 8 to 14 months. Though if they are doing anything other than exercise, one of those meals is very light.

stabba 10,745
So if the pup is eating the rest the day after obviously you are not taking anything that's left away from him first thing next day??First job for me in the morning after a fag and a brew lol is the dog/s. First job check the food bowl(not that there's any ever left) but still check it just in case. If there were to be any left it would picked up straight away. Slugs and all manner of creepy crawlies could have been in it during the night. Plus if there is any left then i know something is wrong health wise with the dog. I hate feeding dry soaked in water . it's looks vile and doe's the teeth no good at all. Try putting dry down mixed with meat and veg and plenty of fresh water see how it goes. Any food left the morning after i'd pick up and chuck . The dog will soon realise that he's to eat all at once or if still leaving some then you are over feeding and cut down accordingly. atb stabba
Country Joe 1,411
Like Stabba says I prefer it dry, my pup has his kibble in the bottom of his bowl, and his raw beef on top, not mixed in. he will polish his meat off right away, and at the end of the night he will return to the bowl and finish of the Kibble. if there's some kibble left, he will eat it for breakfast. if i soften the kibble with water or gravy, he wont eat it.
