shaaark 10,880
How much exercise should a 12 week pup be getting??? Lol. let me think road work, bike work...... let them be pups ffs. They don't need muscle other than what they'll build up naturally. Start thinking about giving them a bit more exercise when they're 6 months +. Just take them walks with your other dogs or if its your only dog, an hour walk in the morning same in evening just at a nice pace with plenty to see and do. If that's too much, don't worry, just let it have fun with some basic trading thrown in. Training is most important at this age than any exercise.2 hours walking a day for a 12 wk old babe ? Sounds a lot I'm sure, walk I take my dogs on is a track which takes about half an hour to walk round. Older dogs generally f**k off on scents, pups I've had just amble. It's not a race mate, I'm not talking flat out walking here see that's the thing when you say something on here, it's hard to paint a picture. An hours walk is a lot of different things to different people, maybe I should have explained it better. Just get the pup out and about Have you mellowed out, or is this the real baw? . Definitely 'not' the reply I would've expected! . No offence Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
I have a 3 month old coliie greyhound pup i was just wodering how much exercise should i be giveing her. I have herd it is bad if you give them to much but how much is to much thanks. A good working lurcher is an investment,..so there is no hurry to be doing too much,.. of anything... Personaly,..I would allow the dog as much freedom to run and play, as is safe to do so,..and concentrate 100% on socialisation, socialisation,.socialisation..... This is an all important attribute, in the 21st Century,.lots of things for a raw boned youngster to take in, understand,..appreciate and hopefully not be fearful of...Once a young canine feels comfortable and secure with everything around him,.the actual schooling bit,..ain't rocket science...so,.just get yourself out and about, and let the jukel run free and see the world.. 100% on the money Phil. No offence I have my moments Lol, similar sort of thing when we take a pup on really, an hour out could well include 30 or more mins of sitting, resting, chilling, not all in one go, and teaching the pup a few manners etc Edited January 3, 2014 by shaaark Quote Link to post

Socialist in the park, walk in the country, just a leisure one, get it out and about Quote Link to post
