patterdale 673
As peper45 said the radio at a low volume is great always had radio on in kennels even for adult dogs.just when it howls or barks don't go outside and make a fuss because the dog will associate howling/barking to get your attention, i know its hard but it will stop, try to knacker it out as late as possible in the evening/night.how old is the pup? WhiteN 15
My pup spent its first few nights in the house, the other half and kids said it werent fair for it to be outside, first 4 nights whined like a good un and needed toileting every 5 mins ! Enough was enough so i said hes out in kennel and run, now he only barks when we leave or get in or someone else turns up, sleeps through the night, the other half is well chuffed ! pup seems well happy , every pup is different and im sure it will settle soon. beast 1,884
there is some good advice on here, just remember it is a little baby which was snuggling up to mum/littermates evry night and now is all alone so be a little sensitive and the howling will pass. dont be tempted to go and comfort the pup but also dont go and scold it either. please dont do anything daft like electric shock collar!!!!! 1 Quote Link to post
