J Darcy 5,871
One of the hound lads in the area will have lost it.....keep feeding the poor dog until it's owner is found. 1 Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
If you contact a pack in that area, it will most likely be theirs or, a joint boxing day meet and that poor hound got it's self lost in the break from the norm. Either way, put the word out, betcha someone is looking and as JD said, keep feeding it.... Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
Better still, catch it up and put it somewhere safe until it's owners are found. 4 Quote Link to post

Bootsha 1,306
good on you for takin the time to do it mate, not everyone would. In the fullness of time, one day someone may be good enough to do the same for a dog that you may have lost, what goes around comes around imo. Happy new year in advance 4 Quote Link to post
Perlin!!!!! 14
Thankyou very much. Its not actually me but my dad thats found it, hes been feeding it since boxing day but not been able to catch it, also its only his place of work and lives 60miles from there. Didnt want to ring rspsa as we know what there like, although site staff have rang them and local council and neither were interested. Have been given a phone number for hopfully its owner, will let you know. If it belonged to me id appreciate the same. Quote Link to post
Bootsha 1,306
had similar myself years ago at the local refuse tip, leave the back of your van open and throw some grub in there, keep out of sight and when it loads up, shut the door, it works sometimes, but you may only get one chance. best of luck with it 1 Quote Link to post
Perlin!!!!! 14
Though of that but my dads the falconer on site and his pickups full of falcons and his own dog, dont know how it would be with his falcons. Quote Link to post
Bootsha 1,306
not good i shouldnt think then mate. I dont doubt you'll come up with a cunning plan, but dont give up on the dog, you may well be its only hope till the owner gets notified. Hounds are funny creatures, a few days out and they can become feral almost. Good luck 2 Quote Link to post
stando 177
You could ask one of the local farms to leave a stock box with the ramp down where she has been hanging around with a bit of straw in it, if your lucky she may well feel secure enough to bed down in it  Quote Link to post
Perlin!!!!! 14
Been in touch with the owner hes going to look for it tomorrow. 3 Quote Link to post
