South hams hunter 8,921
Been setting snares lately to little success, looks like I finally caught something but the rope had broke, snapped or chewed through. How do you guys stop this? Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Rope? Do you mean the tether? If so, there is little you can do to stop this other than using stronger string. The chances are that a badger or fox found a free meal... Quote Link to post
South hams hunter 8,921
Yes the tether Quote Link to post
micky 3,325
Rabbits sometimes bite through the ROPE but not that often and if the tether is doubled up like this one shown on one of Woogas snares the rabbit will still be held , unfortunately in this instance a fox nibbled through the rabbit for its New years Eve dinner. Bootsha 1,306
i used to use similar wire tealers as booms on my paternosters for see fishing, just twisted high tensile / stainless steel wire wrapped around the main line, i bet you could use similar in a snare set up as shown, good idea that, food for thought. 1 Quote Link to post
