big scott 6
Alright lads, I have always had pcp FAC air guns but over the years I have become sick of having to keep an eye on the gauge and spending more time worrying about how many shots I have left than hunting. So in my possession I have a hw35e which I am lead to believe can be a very good FAC, my local gun shop says about £50 to have it all done. My question is what flbs am I looking at and am destroying a mint classic. Thanks Quote Link to post
PIL 7
It would probably help if you stated the caliber Quote Link to post
big scott 6
Its a .22 sorry Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Seriously, I would leave the HW35E at sub-12 ft/lbs and buy an HW80 .22 for tuning to around 18 to 22ft/lbs output. The HW80 is a formidably accurate spring rifle at higher energy outputs and I wouldn't be without mine where a lot of knock-down punch from a .22 spring rifle is needed. It's brilliant on Mink, rats, rabbits, any small airgun quarry. Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
As above. You'll only get about 15ish ft-lbs from a 35 before it turns into a total dog to shoot so there's really no point. As Simon's said, the is a much better bet but also have a look at the Diana side-levers, the 48,52 and 54. An easy and managable 30 or so ft-lbs in .22. Quote Link to post
big scott 6
Yes all very good comments and totally agree so think I'm going to look for a Diana 52 and sell my hw35e so if anyone has one for sale ? Or wants to buy the 35 £200 Quote Link to post
