I wanted to put my pup on gain 28 but the shop I go to doesn't stock it and recommended this stuff, he sai a few people have been buying it and can't fault it. My pup is 5 months and been on it for probably 2 months now. He was weighed at about 4 and he was 10.5 kilos. WhiteN 15
Just googled it and a web definition is : "this loose term covers any meat or animal by product, without specyfying what it is or even what species it comes from. This term can be used to hide undesirable or unhealthy ingredients .............................................."

Country Joe 1,411
What is meat and Animal derivatives? As was mentioned in the recent TV prog on C5 this is to confuse dog owners, if it was decent meat they would be the first to put this on the bag. If a dog food company was honest and put on the bag. The Chicken used in this product came from Chicken feet, beaks, guts etc would it help sell their product? All those who love their completes, the ones that are always mentioned on this forum, email them and ask what part of the Animal is used in their product. I am not anti complete I use one myself as a mixer along with raw meat.but to put on a product Meat and Animal derivatives which tells you nothing, why the secrecy.
sandymere 8,263
It allows them to use what is available without changing the packaging all the time Remember its about having the right balance of proteins not where they came from, once broken down to amino acids it doesn’t make any difference if they are from rump steak or chicken feet any n more than if you demolish a mansion and a council house you end up with bricks lol. 30% is pretty high protein but it has more fat than many which is good.

Country Joe 1,411
Sandy, does this mean that the ones who are sourcing quality Beef chicken etc to feed their mutts are wasting time, and money and once its broken down to amino acids it makes no difference from rump steak to chicken feet. so we might as well just use a quality complete, no sourcing, no cutting up, or freezing, just pour out a bag and get the same results?
