whitefeet4190 1,725
Bird that jab is called oxytocin and a mill normaly does the job. Only use it if the bitch is clearly struggling. Best done under vetinary supervision. It does what it says on the tin, very good stuff. Good stuff but if the bitch is given too much it can have the opposite effect Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
Very good set up. Just a thought though, make sure the pups don't get too warm.... 1 Quote Link to post

Asra14 88
Hi all happy new year , my bitch has milk coming out her teats and I have been told this is a sign that she is close to whelping, I have been monitoring her temperature through out and its still the same, I have rechecked my dates and she still has a week to go, is this normal?? and which is the best way people have found to be most accurate?? many thanks Ian Quote Link to post
staffpeg 217
Take it temp every 4hrs & when it drops At least 1 degree to a very low 36 then goes back up in the next 12/24 hrs Pups will be there within 24/48 hrs but could come quicker Quote Link to post

silverfox55 2
Really nice set up. It looks like you have spent a lot of time, effort and research into giving the pups the best start. The dam and sire look good and appear to be clean bred I'm sure with continued care you have already shown it will benefit the pups later. I have worked bull/salukixsaluki/greyhounds for several years now and have found them to be a great all round cross, full of speed drive but at the same time with a good temperament. All the best. northern lad 2,292
Hope all goes well for you Ian,youve certainly done your best to provide a good start for them...the only thing I would add is if the bitches temp drops for 24 hrs and still no pups I would have her to the vet for a check...nearly lost a bitch and pups some years ago ,she was showing no signs of labour/distress but temp had been down 24hrs,ended up having a section as the pups were too large (my fault had overfed the bitch, never bred a litter before )having said this don't get to hung up on potential problems....Im sure she will be fine,enjoy....youll never have a spare minute when theyre here ,proper time wasters, sat watching there every move and seeing their characters develop ATVB Dave Quote Link to post
