Which Make Of Pellets?

Recommended Posts

It is not as simple as that! What works well in one rifle may not work well in another of the same make and model, like some cars prefer BP fuel, some Shell! What can only be offered is guidance, not a definitive answer.

Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums are found to work well in many Webley .22 rifles (the .177 Ultras are a heavyweight pellet and not really suited to spring powereds where as the .22s are a medium weight pellet).

Have been using H&N Field & Target Trophy 5.5, nothing wrong really, just a little loose going into the barrel & as i'm running out was just wondering if there was anything else that would suit the gun better?

When I purchased my .22 HW100, I bought 2 tins of AA diablo fields in 5.51, and was quite happy with the grouping. I went to buy some more and they had none in stock so I got some H&N FTT 5.53. These were a dissappointment with grouping. My mate gave me a few Ely Wasps to try, and I could have got a better group using a blunderbus.

I then sent off for AA Diablo Fields in both 5.51 and 5.52, and also some JSB Exact Diablo's in 5.52.

Tightest groups were with the AA 5.52 and the JSB 5.52's. Both being slightly tighter than the AA 5.51, so it's a case of trial and error to find what is best suited to your gun.
