Dont know about if its compatible with the NS5O but the ret on the varmint in half mildot is not very good compared to the half mildot ret on the hawke panorama range have a look through them both first an you will see what I mean ATB mike 1 Quote Link to post

magnummike 39
The ret on the Varmint is a totaly different half mil dot ret and is thicker and not the floating ret design as on the panorama , digi nite eye , tac 3O and sidewinder's . I have all of them and find the ret on the varmint to be far inferior than the others , dont know why Hawke do this on the oterwise good varmint model IMHO. ATB Mike Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
They are fine, and the SF of the latest model Varmint make then better than the previous models. Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I love my panorama with the half mildot ret shame it doesn't have side focus .. but I don't use NV so im ok with front AO Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
Hawke Varmint Side Focus 2.5-10x44 ½ Mil Dot Reticle i have one of these and find them fine to use for the money,on a recoiling rifle. however i find the ret a bit more cluttered, than the sidewinder have used this to good affect on rats, because the low mag. a similar spec with SF and half Mil Dot,however more than double the price. Hawke Sidewinder 30 Tactical SF 4.5-14x42½ Mil Dot 10X Reticle i find this ret finer than the varmint as i find it to bold, for my old eyes 1 Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
The super fine Ret on the panorama helps me aim at single pellet holes and drawing pins at 34 yards better that the SCB ret on my mamba lite and if you focus your ret properly it should be perfectly clear.. the finer the better imho 2 Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
The Varmint has a bit of a dodgy ret , some are thin , some are thick . Thick are crap at 40yds plus .......... Quote Link to post
