I gave two away were not that reliable...

Piece of string does the job ,,mind you kinda hurts your hands if the busterd pulls

Those aren't the ones with the brass barrel, they have a trigger on the side don't they?

Yes they do mate but one has a hole drilled to accommodate the string and barrel .........

I used to slip my Lurcher after rabbits with the old type which I made with a short handle, I used a length of polypropylene webbing sewn together on the machine to house the line and made a nice a leather lurcher collar for it to work with. The fittings I got from my saddlery supplier.Worked well.

1 I have the cord runs inside the leather work down to a brass bar that holds the pin which when pulled releases 1 side of the collar just like the coursing slip lead does

For lamping I use a gun dog rope lead, that way you can run them without a collar.

well thats what im using atm mate just gun dog rope but prefere the proper slips

i just use these when i need to at night, one finger under the rope at the back of the neck and their away,
