Those aren't the ones with the brass barrel, they have a trigger on the side don't they?

Yes they do mate but one has a hole drilled to accommodate the string and barrel .........

I used to slip my Lurcher after rabbits with the old type which I made with a short handle, I used a length of polypropylene webbing sewn together on the machine to house the line and made a nice a leather lurcher collar for it to work with. The fittings I got from my saddlery supplier.Worked well.

i had the one with the trigger on the side and lost it the other night the dog pulled out my hands on a run and it came off over field n couldnt find it

I have a single one of those made by Mr Jackson, no spring just a pin inside a brass barrell, more reliable than the springs IMO.

Nice bit of kit, used to use it a lot when we were coursing before the ban.

 

For lamping I use a gun dog rope lead, that way you can run them without a collar.

well thats what im using atm mate just gun dog rope but prefere the proper slips

Try gamekeeper shed i use the nylon slip leads no so bulky as the leather one decent price as well

thats alright if you have big dogs i would need to be about 4 foot to do that with my we dogs lol
