Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Kicks out some right readings!! using some stick on LED lights. heres a few figures. hw98 ((SFS tuned) fired about 1200 pellets) over 5 shots using falcon accuracy plus 7.33gr (not weighed washed or lubed) its apparently got a spread of 32.1 fps or that's 0.91 ft lbs! oh it gets better..... hw100kt over 5 shots apparently it has a total spread of 34.8 fps with jsb exact 15.89gr(not weighed washed or lubed) that's 1.4 ft lbs spread over 5 shots.... my arse!!! hw77k RWS hobby 7gr (not weighed washed or lubed) heres 5 shots- between about 30 errors because of the lighting! 853.0 highest 11.31 ftlb 834.7 821.2 lowest 10.48 ftlb 849.8 822.6 spread- 31.8 fps / 0.85 ft lb hw97k RWS hobby 11.9gr (not weighed washed or lubed) again loads of errors! 10 shots (actually 40+) 618.8 619.8 622.9 621.0 610.6 619.7 627.7 highest 10.41 ft lb 619.3 615.0 610.5 lowest 9.85 ft lb spread- 17.2 fps / 0.56 ft lb This riflle has an old cut down vmach spring from my old hw97 .177 hence the low power. but its good enough for me. im going to be stripping and giving both the 77 and 97 a thorough polish over the next few days to see if theres any power increase I have chronoed before, but im off out tomorrow to see how different the chrono reads outside compared to indoors with dodgy lighting Just hope the 98 and 100 aren't actually that inconsistent!! 1 Quote Link to post

WoodsmanJim 160
I have an F1, it's always been near impossible to get readings from it indoors or even on very grey overcast days outdoors. But I guess if you want fine tuned accuracy from it, then it's going to need only optimum conditions in which to work. Can't comment about other chronos, never owned or used any others. PJWmids 35
It's not just me then, my f1 chrony can be temprimental with different outdoor conditions, if the battery is wearing can also not help matters. Edited December 29, 2013 by PJWmids 1 Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I find if you dont have the rifle in exactly the same position it gives slightly higher lower reading upto about 30 fps !?? Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi Skott artificial light is a you might want to make your self a jig,to sit the rifle in,each time you test it.make sure its between the sensors, and make sure its the right distance away from the sensors,Si uses one and we get correct readings due to the correct ways to use it oh yes! they are erratic readings Quote Link to post
