Gaz_1989 9,539 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Share Posted December 28, 2013 I would not get one older than 7wk's old let alone 9mth as you won't have a clue what has happened to him/her in those vital few week's of training... but if you are happy with him that's all that matter's.. didnt want a puppy mate still a pup at 9month full of beans n when we get out hes on the ball still needs abit of work but as said hes still a pup the bloke had to sell as was getting evicted when we got there to pik him up all house was packed up ready to go said he couldnt get anywere for him to go genuine bloke Good luck with him .. nice one way hes going be top class next season taking big and small bunnies now carnt really ask for much more than that at 9 month Yep good luck with him Link to post
miles 227 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Share Posted December 28, 2013 Best dog iv ever seen on lamped rabbits was out of smokey x fettleMade it look easy Would go way out down a beam till there was hardley any light and get on them Retrieve them 300m Jump Put the beam on rough he'd hunt it till he flushed and make the catch Yeah prob the classiest lamping dog for rabbits iv seen and he was Coursing bred. Will take big numbers on the lamp, not ideal for the day job really............ a good allrounder dog can do both be it fens through the day or fields in the night on all quarry had a dhxgh first cross back in the day would do anything you slipped him on and his son the same but never kept them going and rocky died at the ripe old age of 14 see why carnt they be more of these around now as pups for the right money Link to post

Yeh your right there mate,,,, that's the think in a nutshell ,,, most good lamping dogs are not going to make consistent out and out coursing dogs,,, however there are out and out coursing dogs that, can rattle up a respectable bag on the lamp.. I was just giving max a nudge,,,lol,,, mind you he knows it's true,, that poodle wouldnt live with Tara or Venus on the lamp,,, but of course, the reverse is true...
