to me a messer is just a bloke that fuks about with terriers/lies about his stock/sells at the drop of a hat and is a person you'd not want to be in their company,a bloke that is just amusing himself at the expense of others and the dogs he keeps.A bloke that leaves a trail of destruction and unhappy landowners wherever he roams.

Cleany, messer is a northern term from what i can gather...never heard it this far North but people in Cleveland area use it. It is not just about dogs. A messer is someone who just messes about with whatever they are doing...talks the talk but never really walks the walk
