Well guys what breed would you have I have a 2 year old son so don't want nothing to big and acassionaly I would like to go lamping I was thinking beddy x whippet

I recently bought a ferreting dog and went for a beddy x whippet, not too big and does the job effectivley can't ask for more mate, just ask some questions about the backgroudn of the dog before you buy it mate, all the best

Id go for collie whippet greyhound back to a whippet, beddies are a pain in the rear even more so if you get a yaper whine like feck over keen at holes dig like mad , but there ok dogs but not my choice ,

got 3 beddy crosses and that doesnt sound like one of them haf collie crosses and wouldnt have one again false marking just to please you jmo but lol

All 3 of mine I use for ferreting I use the terrier on a stable block I ferret if I used a running dog hed prob kill itself. I also use a collie grey and a whippet. The collie xs is the best to watch work as by watching him you have an idea of what's going on below ground

I have two young manchester terrier/whippets they've been very good on there first fretting trip last week and they haven't had a lot of training.

I had one of thoses as a boy/teenager great dog, she still Alive but very old too old to work. She would catch rats, rabbits, hares but only by stalking them. She would lamp rabbits an hares and even took a few foxes, grey squirrel

She would catch pheasant and partridges effortlessly and the occasional pigeon When out mooching she would catch more birds than mammals great little dog.

 

I don't know if she was just a one off or if they all work Like that but she was a great little dog in her day, but then as a teenager she was out everyday all day. She measured 19tts.

 

Never seen any other working bred Like this

 

I think I would go for a whippet or whippet x just for ferreting. Atb
