Navy Shadows Russian Warship Off Moray Coast

sneaky russians, wonder what they were really upto

 

 

The Russian military news agency Interfax-AVN reported at the time that the fleet was on route to Syria and took shelter in the Moray Firth when faced with deteriorating weather conditions.

Simple peacetime intelligence gathering, you poke and test a potential enemy to learn how they respond so if you have to attack in the future you have an idea how best to do so effectively.

 

They fly reconnaissance planes around the North Sea and our northern most borders testing our radar and Typhoon response times.

 

A squadron or two or Nimrods would be handy....

As the picture was taken in 2011 I'd reckon our response time is on a par with Greater Manchester Police, on a Friday 999 Call.
