Flipper_Al 1,012
Your welcome What make and model laptop do you have.....? accessing the restore partition is different on different makes What version of windows are you running xp/vista/w7 Takes about 40mins to do the restore, what takes the time is putting on all the windows updates, it can take about a day to do them all You other option is to clean the machine with free software you can download, this would be my preferred option.... Let me know Edited December 21, 2013 by Flipper_Al

brucemyster 75
hold on there cowboy, there's plenty of things you can do to speed up your pc before deciding to do a system restore, and it's all free if you haven't already got it install and run "malware bytes" to check for malware, trogans and alike the same with "CC cleaner" to clean up all the junk and temp files, when was the last time you cleared your internet cache? have you updated your anti virus? install and run Avast have you ever defragmented your hard drive? if your wifi is running slow try changing channels, install wifi stumbler and see what channels your neighbours are using

Easy to say in hind site I know, good luck with it and to be honest if it's gone tits up anything to get it going again is worth a punt
