Potato crates with a sheet of tin over the top I don't bother covering my logs tbh just all in piles and left like that , rain water don't make much difference it's the sap what needs to dry out

forget all that shite, buy an 8lb spliting axe and whack the shit out of that pile of timber, like real men used to.bunch of fannys lol

You could make you'd own poly tunnel, As said rain water isn't a drastic problem, it wets the edge of the logs but doesn't really soak through. I just keep a few piles by the log burner to dry them f

I just built a heap, kinda house shaped.

Sloped the 'roof' with some of the smaller bits of stick, and this kinda ran the water.

They have been under a good foot of snow last winter, but when the summer came and I was topping up my shed, they were bone dry.

I have now got a similar problem tho.....Bigger scale........I've just gone and bought 2 Artic loads - Aprox. 50T of them! :icon_eek: ..long story. ;)

Got to tackle that when I get home in the New Year,

Starting to wish mine was smaller scale now! Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Saw some cracking photos of 'wood piles' on Yahoo home page I think it was, a few weeks ago.

Very creative stuff.

Maybe that's the links at the start of your thread, but I can't open anything from here.

Couple of sheets of tin, couple of sheets of 2"x2" weldmesh, some blocks/bricks.

You can make a frame with the mesh, cut out a piece for underneath the stack which sits on blocks to keep it off the ground. The sides can be mesh too, will contain the timber and allow air to flow through. The tin is obviously for the roof.

How you join it all up it up to you.

I feel a diagram might be needed. Lol
