Recommended Posts

Available in the Classifieds Guns & Rifles for sale section, the 16" .22lr Silhouette.

CZ American .22WMR
CZ Silhouette .17HMR
CZ Silhouette .22lr
CZ Silhouette .22lr 16" Barrel
Magtech .22lr Semi

The 16" Silhouette is the newest and hardly used, I let off a couple of shots yesterday to make sure it worked!:laugh::good:(cleaned it again since!)

It was bought with the intention of being a Company rifle but great plans change, sometimes quickly, and it is now surplus to requirements, available for sale at a VERY competitive price.

Nice selection Deker

If it were my collection however the middle three would be up for sale.

Edited to add. Not that there is anything wrong with the CZ rifles I just couldn't get them in my cabinet.

:laugh::laugh::thumbs:

Lots of CF and shotguns to add to that lot, and the FAC air rifle.

I currently have 4 cabinets. (2x9gun, 1x5gun, 1x3gun..mine all get stored clean/dry and in their slips)

Personally out of those I'd keep the .17 HMR and CZ Silhouette .22lr.

I reckon with those 2 you cover pretty much any rimfire situation.

We all have different requirement (or expectations or wishes). I have to cover a lot of quarry in a lot of different situations and I need the right gun to hand.

I am not a gun collector, they are tools, I have what I need, I don't need the 16" Silhouette now, so its up for sale!

Love the Silhouette and if I hadn't just picked up a Ruger 10/22 then I'd have the cash for this and I'd be knocking on your door right now. Actually prefer the CZ over the Ruger but the chap I was talking to before didn't look as though he was going to sell his 16" CZ and a good value Ruger International came up.

Still have a spare slot for a .22lr so if some Christmas cash comes up and it's still around then I'll give you a nudge!

Now, if only some good value .223 and .243s would also magically appear..

Love the collection by the way

What do you think of the magtech deker?

I had spent around 3 years on and off playing with semis and toying with the idea of buying one before I invested, I kept coming back to the 7022.

It is as light as they come, easy to work on and shoots all the ammo I have tried in it. The trigger is poor and I thought that would lead to bad results, not much you can do with them except fettle, (they improve with use anyway), but the groups are remarkably good. I keep it clean and it doesn't jam, the only problem I have had with ammo is with a bad batch of Winchesters which I was testing for another member here and a box of Remington subs I bought to help break it in, that box was atrocious, didn't even work in my 452, but they were very cheap.

The gun is a Mossberg 702 remember, they sell them circa £100 more, mine cost £150 brand new a couple of years ago, I played with it a bit, but it is one of the few rifles you can buy today that is usable straight out of the box.

Before (Edit. it doesn't come with studs, I fitted them before I took the pic)

Mossberg702

I don't use it that much, which is why I had no intention of spending a fortune on a semi, but as semis go and for what it costs then I think its great, many will buy a 10-22 and spend far more on aftermarket parts for it than this whole rifle costs, and the results will not reflect that.

Magtech 7022, good performer, very light, feels cheap but it works, groups well, easy to use, trigger poor. It does what I want, some don't rate it, but then again some spend a load more to start with on a 10-22, throw most of it away and spent even more on aftermarket parts, so I guess they don't rate them either.

Sounds like a decent little rifle. I wouldn't mind looking at a semi for the mrs to use looked at a cz semi when I bought my brno £125 with steel sights looked like a fun little gun they had the magtechs in the shop selling at £350 new. The mrs is great with the air rifle but she is a little nervous of using the 12G so I offered to buy her a .410 she said she would rather a rifle as she likes the precision shooting aspect.

What...mine cost £150 BRAND NEW 2 years ago, that is some inflation!

I paid £100 for my Magtech 7022 several years ago and I wouldn't be without it. It prefers Eley subs, but I don't seem to be able to find any locally, so following meeting up with Deker, I went to RWS subs and I can't complain about them. The trigger I lapped in with valve grinding paste and it's now much better. Look at this lot.

Most of these were shot in a matter of minutes using my Magtech 7022 in the foreground, the rest with my CZ452 HMR. It's ideal for poking round a corner and surprising a few rabbits. This summer I had a red/green dot sight on it for fast, close range work. I've now fitted the scope again, as the rabbits are now at 50 yards ,or more.
