redrob... 0
i think its well worth £50.00 to have kate hoey and the ca on the side of hunting if it wasnt for them and other clubs hunting would have gone years back,ok were on the back foot now but who do you think was fighting our corner 25 30 yrs back. remember panorama program, on hunting if you do, just picture it with NO f****r THERE TO REPRESENT US. elisderyn 496
I know someone who worked for the CA............He left because he was sick & tired of funds being squandered.... As I have said I'd rather put my £50 into my dogs........Us terrier lads take a risk everytime we go out these days & thats the reality of it , our opposition have got what they want to a degree & we simply have to cope with it..........Well meaning but out of date & misguided clubs or society's cant do anything for me & my terriers these days and Im happy not to draw attention to myself by being part of a group or club . Use your head , work your dogs & stay safe.... Edited October 6, 2007 by elisderyn Quote Link to post
m.r1 7
Ah maybe thats why i haven t heard of em they don t have anything to do with us this side,im all on for these club things but have never heard of any of their benefits to anyone ,sorry Hello Pip Are you brand new to the game? Are you a member of a terrier club? if the answer is no and no, dont ask what they are doing for me me me, do something for your terrier and join a club and press for the club to become affiliated to the Fed. You will then get an insight in to what the Fed does for all. Only know of one local club ,all decent dedicated lads who have perservered despite really hard timesBUT they do nothing more than me except organise shows, not my thing MR1,you work away at your show thing AND your arsehole comments Not arsehole comments prick, I dont show, read the threads and think! Now what im asking is DO THEY REALLY EXCIST????? Ive had countless phone numbers and contact e-mails with no reply what so ever, If you join the FMWTC your meant to be part of NWTF, BUT no contact is made So Mr ! would you please kindly tell me and others that ask the same questions, WHY is this? Remember this is a question and a question only, not some kind of slagging match. Even a 1 sentance answer will do lol. Cheers TUFFTY Hello Tufty, Barry Wade is the Chairman, I will ask him. Simoman 110
When I was a student (don't hiss) in the late 90's I had to give a presentation on the merits of terrierwork in efficient fox control to a large group of students at my agric college. It was definately an "experience" but Barry helped me enormously with lots of information, facts and figures which helped my talk. Quote Link to post
elisderyn 496
MR.1...................Seriously....Tell me what joining or contributing to an association can do for you or your terriers these days & please dont do it in a condecending way mate as its a genuine question....??? m.r1 7
Hello elisderyn, I understand people are pissed off with our club reps, orgs and societies etc some have tried to defend and have done so, some dislike terrier work and dont really want to be part of us or want us to be part of them. My own personal opinion is that we still need such organisations such as the Fed and the CA, however, BASC did let us down a lot but as disapointed as I am with them we still need them. I do not 100% fully support any of the orgs, there are some of their policies I do not fully support, but being realistic we are from such a diverse group of supporters it would be hard to get 1 org for us and 1 org is not sufficient to fight our cause. Most of the comments from the site to me are very negative, yes we lost a lot, however, reverse this thought, we still get out, we still work our terriers to fox so we won, the Antis have had a Labour promise for over 20 years they would finish us, they didnt. I blame a lot of todays failures in protecting our sport on the people from some 15 years or more ago that should have had the fore sight and back bone to stand up and defend and more importantly promote, the reps now are facing all the shit and pressure but still having a go. In my opinion the war is not over, it will never be over so long as we are still out hunting in what ever capacity, antis are and will still atacking us, the orgs that have been mentioned are needed to keep defending future attacks. As for clubs, do we need them, well no if they have the wrong members (show) YES if there members are pro digging etc, your club is only as good as your voice. And even the Fed, remenber Law is Law, the Fed will only encourage and support lawful activities, I dont like it and you probably dont like it, I would have loved the opportunity to work terriers some 40 years ago to our most testing quarry the Badger. Your 1 line answer! sorry I cant help it I will email Barry this evening and relay some of youtr comments Quote Link to post
boris b 1
Direct preferably violent action is the only tool we had that could have held of a ban , It is the only language any government in the world understand . basc ca ect ect are only there to line there pockets . The law is here for ever it will never change . federations and alliances failed us before and they will fail us in the future . Stick with your own and trust no one thats the only way to survive now not pay someones wine bill and hotel . Quote Link to post
elisderyn 496
Fair enough MR.1.........Your passion & loyalty are admirable mate but surely you can see why lads are a bit shy these days when it comes to trusting ANYONE regarding the subject of the working terrier.......Its hard to have faith after yrs of knockback after knockback , some , myself included have conceded that it is a damn site easier now to just get on & work your dogs as quietly & sensibly as possible , As you have said its a shame EVERYONE didnt sing from the same hymnsheet when the writing first appeared on the wall but on the other side of the coin you can gaurentee that there will ALWAYS be lads digging to thier terriers who simply just well...................dig to their terriers......and without sounding like a funny f****r these lads dont need anyone but their mates , a dog & a spade.........
