Huge Thanks To Pianoman And Webster.

Ages ago I did some work on Pianoman's springers (before he jumped ship...) and as a 'thankyou' he gave me an old HW80 action that he had laying about. It's been propped up in the corner of my livingroom for months, pretty much forgotten about until recently.

 

A few weeks back I put a reply to a thread about stocks, half jokeingly asking if anyone had an old stock kicking about for not much cash. This was when Webster then kicked in saying he had a Mk1 stock that was no longer needed. He very kindly let me have the thing FOC and also chucked in a couple of scopes that were surplus to requirements. Top bloke!!!!

 

I hope to be able to repay the kindness one day, mate. My eldest boy will be made up by this and one way or another I'll get some pics up when it's all finished.

My neighbour has an old hw80 its shagged but he wants quite lot for it :/

 

Was going to get it and do it up but

Where the barrel meets the cylinder the ends of the cylinder are bent in so i probably wouldnt be able to get the barrel on

If it's just the jaws that are bent, I can most likely fix that for you, Skot. Give me a shout.

That was the only thing putting me off. I only had aquick look at it tho. Might have another look and offer him less seeifhe needs money with xmas coming up

That sounds a great project andy, no doubt you will build a lovely gun from that! Iv just baught an old hw80 mk1 too its a lovely solid old gun iv just got in from a wet and wild wander from one of my permissions with it. Really pleased with it!

They've both shot up this last year, Mike. Toby's been happily shooting with the modded Hatstand and the will be perfect for Oscar who's been mugging me for my 90 in recent months. The last few times we've been out I've been playing backup with the little Xocet.
