Secondrow 0
Im after some advice from the guys on here Im not sure if this is whats known as tuning or if it comes under servicing, but I guess it doesnt really matter. Ive bought a S/H S410 (in .22 but I cant see that making much difference) and Ive got a chrono so Im planning on testing it with a few different types of pellets to see what sort of FPS and ft/lbs Im getting. Im not sure of the guns age, it looks a few years old but reasonably well looked after. So first off, what sort of numbers should I expect if its running well? Second, if its below par (and what would constitute below par?) would I be better sending it off for a tune/service or is it easy enough to do at home? I have a decent set of basic tools, so as long as there arent any special tools Id be good I reckon. What Im hoping as an end result is to be getting 11 - 12 ft/lbs from the gun with a decent quality pellet. Is there anywhere/anyone folk on here would recommend to do the work and how much am I looking at (realising that this is very open and there are diminishing returns). Or is 11 12 asking a bit much! Or is 11 12 asking a bit much! if your s410 is pre AT then you can service it yourself, its pretty easy to do take a look at the serial number, then ring Air Arms they will give you its history,i usually set my PCP's at 11.2ft/lbs you want it at 565/585 fps and try not to let it go under 535/545 from memory the only special tool to use is circlip pliers, the rest is all allen keys & screw driver. i think AA charge £90.00 for a service, but there might be some one close to you who will do it.i am to far from you to do it,try joining an air gun club, there maybe someone there who can help Edited January 25, 2014 by davyt63 1 Quote Link to post

Danny Fireblade 66
Take a visit to the air arms owners club, all your questions will be answered there. http://www.airarmsownersclub.com I done a 120 shot string the other night over the chrono, the shots at 190 bar are 10.43 ft lbs while at 130 bar the power has risen to 11.70 ft lbs. This is with AA field, an S410k in .22 flavour. Quote Link to post
