marshman 7,757
As a child I always loved our family Christmas there was plenty of good food and family would get together. As a teen my Christmas changed , my parents couldn't hide the strain it put on them like they did when I was a child. And I'm not talking expensive presents like kids nowadays but simple presents. They always done their best even when money was really tight to this day I still feel anxious when I think back . Fortunately my life is a little more secure and my children will not know the worry . In saying all that I still love christmas !

mushroom 12,938
All those things you mention are true,,,,, but I still love it,,,not much dough around our house at the mo,, so the kids only have a few things from myself and the mrs,,, but we are lucky, as the grandparents spoil them .... Yep I love Chrimbo Like it and don't in the same breath! For me it's an excuse to eat more calories than is physically possible and get fuucked up Unless I'm with the kids, which this year I won't be which sucks..... Oh well Jack will keep me company with his mate Voll Damm (google it) I love the atmosphere and sense of happiness this time of year brings, I just like to go about my bussiness and take it all in. I don't make a big deal of it but enjoy it deep down. Boggles my mind when people get caught up in the expense and commercialisation of it all though. Just enjoy it for what it is and if somebody thinks your a c**t for not maxing the credit card then you're better off spending Xmas without them imo. Take all what in??? No wonder ya feckin happy

WILF 46,834
Years ago I could not give a shit about it, just another excuse to go out, get battered and have a f***ing good fight. Now I have kids, it's different......it's special for them and it makes my day to see how excited they get. We take the emphasis away from "things" and try and make it more about family, church, hot chocolate at a carol service and all that stuff. My Mrs is a legend and sorts out the lot
