Recommended Posts

Bah humbug and all that but i hate it and allways have  ,found my parents having a head in hands moment when i was a kid about the worry of it all and every year i hated the thought of them being like that over a few poxy presants and i still feel like that to this day.Have i got the kids enough or to much?,is it good enough and will they have the piss took if it isn't?,naa fcuk all that shite and i'm glad when it's over to be honest.Fecking people starving in the world and we go all over the top with food etc trying to be as greedy as possible, well not my thing at all and i'd rather not be guilt tripped into it every year but some fat chance of that. :censored: .

Bah Humbug indeed.. might feel differently if my son and grandkids didn't live in Australia, but they do. We have to have her year old mother down, sitting there dribbling, belching and dropping her

I love the atmosphere and sense of happiness this time of year brings, I just like to go about my bussiness and take it all in. I don't make a big deal of it but enjoy it deep down.

Boggles my mind when people get caught up in the expense and commercialisation of it all though. Just enjoy it for what it is and if somebody thinks your a c**t for not maxing the credit card then you're better off spending Xmas without them imo.

I see Christmas as a day to think of others especially family before ourselves and I want my kids thinking that way as well.

The wife has the wrong end of the stick and spends all the time thinking about the pressies but as I said to her (just before we started our first festive argument of the year) if it was the pressies that made Xmas then all of our Christmas's would have been brilliant which they haven't

The stress of sorting work out and breaking the work routine. The nonsense of wondering what shite to buy folk that you rarely see....hmmm socks or a mug!!

Coughing up for the Xmas shopping spree at the supermarket for short dated food and being analy raped on the cost of a bird I don't even like.

Same old crap on the telly......

BUT. Seeing the kids faces on Xmas morning is worth more than all the crap that goes with.

Bah Humbug indeed.. might feel differently if my son and grandkids didn't live in Australia, but they do. We have to have her 80 year old mother down, sitting there dribbling, belching and dropping her guts during dinner... Good mind to f*ck off down to my permission for the day...

Yeah... humbug for sure..

I can relate to a lot of what has been said above, money is really tight this year so it's only the grandkids that are getting any presents. I used to love xmas morning and seeing the kids faces, but now they have grown up and left the nest, it does not seem the same somehow.

The only upside is I get to stay in bed a little longer instead of up at silly o'clock. Still all the veg has to be done then there is dinner to cook, so will be kept busy.
