Country Joe 1,411
Sometimes you can be right on top of them, others it could be an arms length, I had three digs today on the one bury, lucky it wasn't deep, I was right on top of the Rabbit, when breaking through, but then moved, gave Jill plenty of time to bottle it up, finally getting it on the third dig.keep at it the mark1 is simple to use. They take a bit of getting use to, I bought the Mark3m, but got rid, I just couldn't come to terms with it. Quote Link to post
The one 8,477
Once you locate the ferret move your locator over the spot in a circle , or in a x and keep turning it down till you get your lowest reading once you get the turf off check again and if your still spot on dig like feck , often as your right on top of them though the rabbits nerve will give and it will bolt or drag a ferret a bit down a tube 5 Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
The best place for it dan is in a museum mate or under a Large lump hammer : ) has anyone told you they don't work near metal iether , which is a bummer when it starts to get dark , Edited December 18, 2013 by Jamie m 1 Quote Link to post

Don't need to mess around with a dial just watch the lights or listen to the sound and hits the spot every time. Like others have said, somethimes digging down on top of the rabbit can shift them off a little just part of digging i guess. Keep at it 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
They have their problems, the one I had the depth it gave was not accurate. Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
As said the rabbits (and/or ferrets) sometimes move once you start digging. Must be the vibration/noise that spooks them. Not much you can do other than keep checking the ferrets location and dig fast. Quote Link to post
mhopton 807
Trouble I had with the mk1 was there was way to much interference ie fence wire old cable worst of all my phone !! Had to turn it of wich was a bummer cos I've missed some good photo opertunetys . Try it turn it on and go over you phone in your pocket , I got rid and back to the mk3m Quote Link to post
foxtails 272
if you cant get the hang of it and want to sell let me know, a mk3 may suit you better ? Quote Link to post
xHOUNDx 33
I think they all have their faults,I prefer the mk3 but found sometimes it aint accurate, like it has shown 5ft but only been a 3 and a half foot dig don't know if its the rabbits moving about though Quote Link to post
